Booking Policy
Accommodation policies and terms that apply to all Tonga Cottages properties. Please read carefully before booking — payment of any amount confirms your agreement to these terms.
Booking & Payment Policy
A booking is not confirmed and dates are not held until payment has been received and a written confirmation has been issued by Tonga Cottages.
Full prepayment is required immediately upon booking. To confirm and secure any cottage, payment in full is due at the time of booking. Until full payment is received, dates remain open and may be booked by other guests.
Instalment option — by management approval only. At management's sole discretion, and only where agreed in writing in advance, a guest may instead secure a booking as follows:
- 50% deposit due immediately upon booking to secure the dates.
- Remaining 50% balance due no later than 60 days before check-in.
- If the balance is not received in full by the 60-day deadline, the booking is automatically treated as cancelled, the dates are released, and the deposit is forfeited and non-refundable.
- For bookings made fewer than 60 days before check-in, full payment is required at the time of booking — the instalment option is not available.
- All deposits and payments are strictly non-refundable, regardless of the reason for cancellation.
- The instalment option is a privilege, not a right, and is granted only by written agreement with management.
- Prices are confirmed at the time of booking in the currency advised by management.
Cancellation Policy
All Tonga Cottages bookings are strictly non-refundable. Please confirm your travel dates before booking.

Guest Numbers & Occupancy
- Only the number of guests confirmed on the booking are permitted to stay at the property.
- Visitors or additional guests are not allowed without prior written approval.
- Management may request valid photo identification for the lead guest at any time.
- Exceeding the maximum confirmed occupancy may result in immediate termination of the stay without refund and an additional charge per extra guest.
No Parties, Events, or Excessive Noise
- Strictly no parties, gatherings, or events unless approved in writing by management.
- Events may be approved with prior discussion and a separate fee — contact us first.
- Quiet hours: midnight to 7:00 AM (Horizon Cottage: 10:00 PM).
- Noise complaints or unauthorised gatherings may result in eviction without refund.
Damage, Loss & Security
- Guests are fully responsible for any damage, loss, or excessive cleaning caused during their stay, whether accidental or otherwise.
- The full cost of repair or replacement will be charged to the guest, and the guest agrees to pay such costs on demand.
- Management may require a refundable security bond for group bookings, large parties, or longer stays, at its discretion.
- Management reserves the right to claim compensation for any damage, loss, or theft identified after check-out.
- Tampering with locks, security devices, or smoke alarms is strictly prohibited and chargeable.
Cleanliness & House Care
- Keep the property in a reasonable and respectful condition throughout your stay.
- Wash all used dishes before check-out.
- Place all rubbish in the green bin at the front of the cottage — no recycling available.
- Excessive mess or misuse may incur an additional cleaning fee.
- Turn off gas stoves, air-conditioning, fans, and lights when not in use.
- Do not overload washing machines.
Smoking Policy
- No smoking inside any accommodation — strictly enforced.
- Smoking permitted only in designated outdoor areas.
- Evidence of indoor smoking will result in a cleaning and deodorising fee.
- No mosquito coils permitted at Ocean Cottage or Nuku'alofa Town Cottage due to fire risk.
Pets
Pets are not permitted on any Tonga Cottages property unless specifically approved in writing prior to arrival. Unauthorised pets will result in termination of the stay without refund.
Amenities & Utilities
- WiFi, air-conditioning, fans, and appliances are provided for normal, reasonable use.
- No refunds for temporary interruptions due to maintenance, power outages, or circumstances beyond our control.
- Please be mindful of water and electricity usage.
Safety & Liability
- Guests stay at their own risk.
- Tonga Cottages is not responsible for accidents, injuries, illness, or loss of personal belongings.
- Children must be supervised at all times.
- Always lock doors and windows when leaving the property.
Right to Refuse Service
Management reserves the right to refuse accommodation or terminate a stay if house rules or policies are breached. No refunds will be issued for removals due to policy violations.

By proceeding with a booking and making payment of any amount, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to all Tonga Cottages accommodation policies and terms above.
